It has been more than 70 days since the “normal” that we once knew has been changed probably, forever!
But whether with the "new normal" or the "old normal" we continue to stand with our affiliates as we look to return to play in a phased approach that establishes best practices to promote the health and safety of all participants.
We understand that this is a very difficult, and at times, very confusing situation so MSYSA wanted to remind all our clubs and affiliates of the following to assist in your decision making:
- The MSYSA Return to Play guidelines are exactly that! They are guidelines based on best practices from US Soccer, US Youth Soccer, CDC and other local and state health authorities, etc.
- MSYSA recommends that each club returning to play should follow a phased approach, as outlined in our Return to Play guidelines, that allows participants to safely acclimatize to the demands of soccer.
- ALL clubs and affiliates should follow the guidelines or recommendations established by your local and state public health authorities and other local entities to determine exactly what Return to Play will look like for you.
- MSYSA is currently in Phase II of our Return to Play guidelines, assuming that you have been participating in Phase 1 for the recommended time of up to four weeks.
- Member clubs and affiliates are always expected to err on the side of caution in health and safety matters and at all times defer to local and state public health authorities.
We have also made some minor updates to the Return To Play documents here, based on updated information that we are receiving on a daily and weekly basis.
